Virgin Media - Project Lightning

Bradley and Company supported Actavo and Virgin Media in expanding their UK network through ‘Project Lightning’. It represents the largest investment in broadband digital infrastructure in the UK for 10 years. Bradley and Company played a key role by working directly for Actavo over the last two years. Bradley and Company provided 50% of Actavo’s year delivery in passing 25,000 Homes excavating 300,000m’s in assisting with the role out of project lightening with Northern Ireland for Virgin Media. This was carried out in multiple towns throughout Northern Ireland: Newtonards, Limavady, Ballykelly, Eglinton, Stathfoyle, Strabane, Derry, Lisburn, Newtonabbey, Carryduff and Belfast.

Activities Included:

• Pre-design duct proving
• New network way-leaving (negotiation of permissions with private property owners)
• Civil works to provide ducting and chambers
• Installation of swept Ts along the duct
• Electrical works to prepare and certify cabinet locations
• Cabling works
• Fibre blowing in micro-duct Fibre splicing & testing
• Reinstatement
